Tonight is the big night.  It’s time for Hollywood’s most prestigious and talked about event.  It’s Oscars time.

The red carpet is down. Ropes and stanchions are in place. The media is set.  Fans are seated.  Rain is falling.  But on this evening, nothing is going to dampen the spirits of the bevy of star-studded celebrities being honored.  Before Neil Patrick Harris takes center stage as host of the 87th Oscars on ABC live starting at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT, let’s take a behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on—right now!

We reached out to one of Hollywood’s premiere producers, the founder of FGW Productions, Stephanie Frederic.  Here are a few of her exclusive photos she shared with us from her prized position on the red carpet.

Hello 2012.  We’re ready to enjoy a new year of new events.

From film festivals to fashion weeks, from movie to music awards shows, from the Olympics to elections, this year will be full of eventful activities filled with special twists we find so appealing.  First up, the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.  Next,  the movie awards season launches with the Golden Globes, SAG, and People’s Choice Awards.   This summer, we can’t wait for London to light the Olympic torch for the games—and the parties—to begin.  Our politically active self  is thrilled about all the political parties and presidential elections taking place throughout the world this year from Senegal to France to our own U.S. presidential election in November.

Our world is full of life and life is full of events.  Those that have twist are the ones we’ll find in 2012.

Life is full of events.

It’s been a long day and I want to show you a few more exclusive shots of the 2011 Primetime Emmys, but these are as the night was winding down at the Governor’s Ball.  The theme this year was black and white.  I felt as though I walked into a circus tent—an upscale circus tent.  Each table had its own theme and decor, but they were all black and white.  Some had stripes, other had circles.  Some table tops were made of a mirror, while others were solid colors.  The center pieces were lily’s woven into the circular tabletop loops.  A 50-foot woman looked down on us from the ceiling, and the band played in the round, and round, and round they went as the guests danced on a circular dance floor – which was the center of the ball.  On top of the circular stage and dance floor was the entertainment, very much like the top-tier of a three-tier wedding cake.

It was all fascinating and completely over the top.  Mimes where staged all around, and there were tables filled with Emmys as their new owner displayed them proudly next to the filet mignon and mac & cheese that was baked in a (guess) – individual circular pan.  Winner after winner filled the room, and the champagne and cocktails followed all night long.  I was so tired at one point that I went to rest against the bar and I bounced back.  It was made of ice – an ice sculpture bar by Grey Goose. They were all over the place.

There was no expense spared for this event.  Everyone seemed to have a great time and felt privileged to be there.  But as the crowd began to thin early on, I know the who’s who in Hollywood were heading out, not to go home, but stop by the next hot Emmy party tonight and do it all over again!

I’m in Los Angeles at television’s premiere event—the Primetime Emmys. What makes the Emmys one hot LA event?  It delivers as a major Hollywood awards ceremony.  There’s the red carpet, tons of celebrities, media, excited fans, beautiful backstage lounges, and glamour galore.   Take a look at some of the visual details that made this year’s Primetime Emmys such a stellar event.  Even the weather was perfect with clear blue skies and just the right temperature.  Tell me what you think?
